Efficiëntie van biomiddelen en combinaties van middelen tegen valse meeldauw in basilicum 2020

This trial has been set up to evaluate the efficacy of different biofungicides for the control of downy mildew (Peronospora belbahrii / PEROBE) in basil (Ocimum basilicum / OCIBA). The key questions are: What is the efficacy of specific biofungicides integrated in a IPM scheme in comparison with the reference scheme?

Discussion

Due to the dry and warm weather conditions in August and September the downy mildew infection came rather late in the trial. The infestation (pest incidence and severity) was good, the disease was homogeneously spread in the trial. The first symptoms of downy mildew were noticed in the untreated object around half of September.

At the observation moment 7 DAT G a significant reduction of the pest incidence was noticed in the object treated with 1.9 kg/ha Fubol Gold followed by 4.7 l/ha PM 20/017, 2 l/ha PM 20/012, 0.3 kg/ha PM 20/014 or 2 l/ha PM 20/015. In comparison to the single application of 1.9 kg/ha Fubol Gold no difference in efficacy could be noticed.

At the observation moment 15 DAT G, the treatment with 1.9 kg/ha Fubol Gold followed by either 2 l/ha PM 20/015 or 2 l/ha PM 20/012 resulted in a significant reduction of the pest incidence by downy mildew. At this moment all test treatments in this trial provide a significant reduction of the pest severity by downy mildew in comparison to the untreated object but no significant differences in efficacy could be shown in comparison to the single application of 1.9 kg/ha Fubol Gold.

 

Conclusion

The efficacy against downy mildew of different biofungicides in a scheme with one application of 1.9 kg/ha Fubol Gold (mancozeb + metalaxyl-m) was evaluated.

The best efficacy against downy mildew in basil is obtained with the treatment of 1.9 kg/ha Fubol Gold followed by either 2 l/ha PM 20/015 or 2 l/ha PM 20/012. Both treatments result in a significant reduction of the pest incidence by downy mildew. No significant differences in efficacy can be shown in comparison to the single application of 1.9 kg/ha Fubol Gold but in absolute numbers a difference is observed. When we look at pest severity, all treatments reduce the infestation of downy mildew but still the infestation is too high to be tolerated.
